A sport with a long history in the country

Cricket in Ireland has a long history, dating back to the 18th century, but the modern rise of the men’s team began in the early 2000s. Ireland first gained attention during the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup, where they famously defeated Pakistan and tied with Zimbabwe, advancing to the Super Eight stage. This performance marked the arrival of Ireland as a formidable cricketing nation. Subsequent World Cups in 2011 and 2015 further cemented their reputation, with notable victories over England (2011) and West Indies (2015). All kinds of cricket matches are also featured at 1xBet to place all sorts of bets too.
